Tomorrow is the first day of spring. I am slowly learning that spring
here is not the slow warming up that I am used to in Ireland. Nor is it
green lush country lanes with it's banks covered in pale yellow
primroses. It is not hearing the first cuckoo nor seeing lambs in the
fields. It is however the time you here the first woodpecker. It is the
time that your garden looks the greenest without having the sprinklers
on everyday. The Northern California hills beckon with the oranges and
yellows of native flowers. And is the best time to enjoy family outings
to the coast or for a family hike. I love California in spring.
